Frequently asked questions

Is there a national unemployment phone number?

No. Unemployment insurance is run by each state, so you call the agency of the state where you worked.

What if I cannot get through?

Most states also let you file and request weekly benefits online. Job centers in some states help with claims in person; check your state page.
